OUR ECO STORY

At Alowishus we have been working hard to reduce our waste and energy consumption and work toward a cleaner world!

We are proud to be a CCIQ EcoBiz Star Partner

Since October 2019 we have:

Reduced our energy intensity by 11%
Reduced our waste to landfill by two whole industrial bins per week
reduced the garbage bags we use from around 500 per month to 300 per month

How did we do it?

Installed an energy monitoring system to manage consumption

Switched to a cheaper electricity tariff

Installed a 20kW solar system

Changed our lights to LED’s

Our coffee grounds are collected by the Endeavour Foundation for their worm farm

Our egg cartons, plastic buckets and lids are collected by schools for craft and learning aids

We have partnered with Splitter’s Farm to collect our food waste for their animals

We send our honey pales back to the local supplier for recycling
